The Uttar Pradesh Department of Posts and Stock Holding Corporation of India Limited have initiated a pilot program to introduce e-stamp services at 11 post offices in the state. The e-stamps aim to provide a digital payment option for stamp duty, a single window system, and transparency in government service payments and revenue. The project, inaugurated by Minister of State for Stamps and Registration Ravindra Jaiswal, was launched at the Varanasi Kachari Sub Post Office and will expand to rural post offices. The joint responsibility between the Revenue Department, Stock Holding Corporation India Limited, and the Postal Department is a significant step in promoting e-governance and transparency. Mayor Pramila Pandey expressed satisfaction at the initiative, emphasizing the convenience it will bring to common people, especially in rural areas. She also noted that the eventual goal is to make e-stamp services available in every village across the state.
