Roglic Wins Stage 8, O’Connor Retains Lead
Three-time former champion Primoz Roglic won stage eight of the Vuelta a España, gaining significant time on overall leader Ben O’Connor, who finished 46 seconds behind. Roglic had to work hard to shake off O’Connor but succeeded in the final kilometers, with Spain’s Enric Mas taking second place. This victory reduces the gap to O’Connor to three minutes and 49 seconds. Earlier in the race, O’Connor had claimed the red leader's jersey with a dominant solo victory in stage six, taking a substantial lead over Roglic and marking his completion of stage victories in all three Grand Tours. The competition remains intense as the race progresses towards its conclusion in Madrid.
