Jury Convicts Multiple Defendants of Murder
Recent jury verdicts have resulted in multiple convictions for murder across several U.S. states. In Berkeley County, S.C., Shelton Brown was sentenced to life in prison for the 2022 murder of 84-year-old Essie Benekin, alongside other charges including burglary and arson. In Hamilton County, Tenn., Kristijan Mrkonjic was found guilty of first-degree murder for a 2021 shooting at the SkyZoo bar and will serve a life sentence. LaQuandre Rashaud Kelly from Jefferson County, Ala., was convicted for the 2021 murder of 18-year-old Jeremy Fidel Jackson.
