Frontman Billy Corgan expressed a desire to blend past music-making methods with new inspirations for this album. The band will not release any advance singles, opting for the album to be heard in its entirety upon release. Alongside the album announcement, the band shared tour dates including a mix of headlining shows and support for Green Day, with plans for a Latin America tour in November.
