Peralta Close to Four-Year Deal with Padres

Left-handed reliever Wandy Peralta, formerly with the Yankees, is reportedly close to agreeing to a four-year deal worth $16.5m with the San Diego Padres. This comes after the New York Mets were previously showing interest in Peralta to strengthen their bullpen. The contract includes three player opt-outs. With the departure of Josh Hader to the Houston Astros, Peralta is a much-needed replacement for the Padres' lefty relief hole. He will join newcomer Yuki Matsui to form a formidable relief unit for the Padres.
