Actor Vijay unveiled the flag and symbol of his new political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), in Chennai, marking a significant step in his political journey as he prepares to contest in the 2026 state elections. At the event, attended by supporters and party members, Vijay emphasized his commitment to equality and welfare for all Tamil Nadu residents, vowing to remove differences based on caste, religion, and gender. He described the unveiling as a 'blessing' and a new direction for the state, with the flag symbolizing the party's aspirations. Additionally, around 5 lakh flags are set to be distributed across Tamil Nadu, reinforcing TVK’s grassroots mobilization. This initiative aligns with Vijay's aim to leverage his popularity to impact the political landscape significantly. The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam was officially named in February 2024, reflecting Vijay's ambitions for the state's prosperity.
