Romy Lauer, the 20-year-old daughter of former NBC host Matt Lauer, allegedly crashed her Jeep Wrangler into a fence and sign in the Hamptons during the July Fourth weekend and fled the scene, leaving her license plate behind. Authorities were able to identify her through the fallen plate and issued a summons for leaving the accident site. A neighbor reported the incident after hearing a loud noise around 4 a.m. on July 5, prompting police to investigate. Romy had shared a TikTok post earlier that evening at a nearby sushi restaurant, raising questions about her whereabouts at the time of the crash. Renowned attorney Edward Burke Jr. has been retained to assist in her legal matters regarding the incident.
