The incident occurred while the passenger was using the phone, prompting the staff of Maha Mumbai Metro Operations Corporation Ltd (MMMOCL) to implement fire safety procedures and evacuate the passengers safely. The affected train is currently under investigation, and safety checks are being conducted to prevent future incidents. MMMOCL emphasized the importance of safety and urged commuters to exercise caution when using mobile phones on trains, as overheating batteries can lead to such incidents. The Mumbai monorail is noted as the first monorail system in India, spanning 19.74 km.
