The iconic film Sholay, written by legendary screenwriters Salim-Javed, will have a special one-time-only screening in Mumbai at Regal Cinema on August 31 to celebrate its 50th anniversary. Organized by the Film Heritage Foundation (FHF), the screening will feature a vintage cinemascope print and is free to the public on a first-come-first-served basis. This event coincides with the release of the docu-series 'Angry Young Men', which explores the influential careers of Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar and their transformative impact on Hindi cinema in the 1970s. Ramesh Sippy, the film's director, along with Salim-Javed, will attend the screening. The film's enduring popularity and its timeless dialogues have captivated audiences for nearly five decades. Fans and celebrities alike have expressed excitement over the re-release and the ongoing celebration of Salim-Javed's contributions to Bollywood.
