Seven Arrested in Haryana Vigilante Killing

Seven people, including two minors, have been arrested in Haryana's Charkhi Dadri district for allegedly lynching Sabir Malik, a migrant worker from West Bengal, over suspicions of beef consumption. The accused lured Malik and another worker, Aseeruddin, under the pretense of selling scrap and then violently assaulted them. Despite police intervention earlier to seize meat samples for testing, the accused took the law into their hands, resulting in Malik’s death and Aseeruddin’s hospitalization. The incident underscores a disturbing trend of mob violence by cow vigilante groups in the region. The accused have been identified as Abhishek, Mohit, Ravinder, Kamaljit, and Sahil. Authorities have registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
