Katseye Girl Group Launches on Netflix

KATSEYE, a new international girl group formed through the YouTube competition 'The Debut: Dream Academy', is set to make its mark on the global stage, showcasing a diverse lineup of members from various cultural backgrounds, including Cuban American, Indian, and Korean. The group, comprised of six members, has been training rigorously in dance and vocals, reflecting the K-pop style, which is the focus of a new Netflix documentary series titled 'Pop Star Academy: KATSEYE', premiering on August 21. Each member has expressed their aspirations to serve as role models, with a strong emphasis on representation in the entertainment industry. Humberto Leon, who has taken on a mentoring role for the group, is noted for his supportive approach in helping the girls develop their individual styles. The project is a collaboration between South Korea's HYBE and U.S. label Geffen Records, aiming to create a group with a unique cultural representation in the pop landscape. Their debut EP, 'SIS (Soft Is Strong)', showcases their music, further solidifying their presence in the industry.
