Ardie Savea Named All Blacks Captain Against Argentina
Ardie Savea has been appointed captain of the All Blacks for their upcoming Rugby Championship tests against Argentina, following Scott Barrett's injury that required surgery on a finger. Barrett will miss both matches, and Jordie Barrett along with Codie Taylor have been named vice-captains. In light of Stephen Perofeta's minor injury, Harry Plummer from the Blues has been called up as cover. Assistant coach Jason Ryan emphasized the need for the team to adapt and evolve their game in preparation for the challenging matches against Argentina, South Africa, and Australia. He noted that Argentina poses a unique intensity and has shown strong performances in their recent tests. The All Blacks will announce their final team selection on Thursday ahead of the first test on August 10.
