Gujarat Launches District Sports Schools Initiative

The 4th Ladakh Taekwondo Training Programme concluded successfully in Kargil, attracting over 84 students and featuring expert guidance from State Awardee Tashi Tundup, who inspired participants to elevate their skills. Tahir Hussain Zubdavi, the new Joint Director of Youth Services and Sports for Ladakh, emphasized the government's commitment to enhancing sports infrastructure and supporting local athletes. Meanwhile, Gujarat is revolutionizing its sports scene through the District Level Sports School (DLSS) initiative, which has established 41 specialized schools offering training in various sports, backed by significant government investment of over ₹900 crore. Young athletes like Diya Jagtap and Vivaan Bhavnesh Patel are benefiting from rigorous training and mentorship, with aspirations for Olympic success. Furthermore, India is enhancing its sports culture through various government schemes, including the Khelo India Scheme and the Fit India Movement, aimed at nurturing talent and promoting fitness across the nation.
