Ian McKellen on stage fall
Ian McKellen, the 85-year-old British actor known for his roles in 'The Lord of the Rings' and 'X-Men', announced that he will take the rest of the year off from acting following a serious fall on stage during a performance of 'Player Kings' in June. McKellen broke his wrist and chipped a vertebra while performing in London's West End, and he credited the fat suit he wore for his role as John Falstaff with preventing more severe injuries. He described the incident as a 'complete shock' and admitted to feeling 'physically weak' as a result. Despite his recovery, he expressed emotional concerns about aging and the physical challenges it brings. McKellen, who has no plans to retire, hinted at the possibility of reprising his role as Gandalf in upcoming 'Lord of the Rings' films. He reassured fans that he is on the mend and looking forward to future projects.
