Charlie Woods Qualifies for USGA Championship at U.S. Junior Amateur
Charlie Woods, the 15-year-old son of Tiger Woods, has qualified for his first USGA championship by posting a leading score of 1-under 71 at the U.S. Junior Amateur qualifier held at Eagle Trace Golf Club in Coral Springs, Florida. Despite a challenging start with a bogey and double-bogey on his first two holes, Charlie rebounded with five birdies to finish strong. He was one of four players to qualify from this site and will compete in the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship at Oakland Hills Country Club in Michigan from July 22-28. The championship will feature a 264-player field, with the top 64 advancing to match play. Charlie aims to follow in his father's footsteps, who won the U.S. Junior Amateur three times consecutively. He expressed his ambition to win USGA championships and eventually the U.S. Open.
