Authenticity Doubts Over Elvis Auction Items

Graceland executives have raised concerns about the authenticity of Elvis Presley memorabilia sold by GWS Auctions, spearheaded by Brigitte Kruse. Joel Weinshanker, managing partner of Elvis Presley Enterprises, highlighted that a unique black grommet jacket, claimed to be Elvis', is actually housed in Graceland's archives. Priscilla Presley, Elvis' ex-wife, had previously vouched for the authenticity of several items, but her relationship with Kruse has since soured, leading to mutual lawsuits. Weinshanker and Graceland argue that many auctioned items lack proper receipts, which were meticulously kept by Elvis' father, Vernon Presley. Despite Priscilla's earlier endorsement of the auction house, she now accuses Kruse of financial abuse and fraud. Kruse maintains the legitimacy of her sales and questions why concerns were not addressed directly with her.
