Astros Extend Winning Streak Against Rays
The Houston Astros continued their winning streak, defeating the Tampa Bay Rays 3-2, marking their seventh consecutive victory and extending their AL West lead to 1.5 games over Seattle. Alex Bregman and Jeremy Peña both hit home runs, with Bregman achieving a career-high by homering in his fourth straight game. Yusei Kikuchi pitched effectively, allowing only one run in 5 2/3 innings, while Josh Hader secured his 26th save of the season. Tampa Bay's Ryan Pressly struggled again, allowing a run for the fourth straight appearance, but the Rays managed to load the bases in the eighth inning. Junior Caminero, recalled from Triple-A, made his presence felt with an infield hit but also struck out three times. With this loss, Tampa Bay fell below .500 for the first time this season, losing six of their last eight games.
