Tripledigit heat wave
Southern California is experiencing a severe heat wave, with temperatures predicted to peak on Monday and Tuesday, reaching highs between 95 to 110 degrees in inland areas. Heat advisories are in effect, warning of dangerous conditions, especially for vulnerable populations without air conditioning. The National Weather Service reported record-breaking temperatures, including 102 degrees in Ramona and 112 degrees in Las Vegas. Relief is expected midweek as a high-pressure system shifts, bringing cooler temperatures by 5 to 10 degrees, particularly away from the coast. Meanwhile, Northern California will also see triple-digit temperatures, with Sacramento forecasted to reach 100 degrees. Similar heat conditions are reported in Oklahoma, raising fire danger and emphasizing the need for hydration and safety precautions outdoors.
