Hinchliffe and Hughes Reach 100m Semis
Louie Hinchliffe and Zharnel Hughes from Great Britain have both competed in the men's 100m semi-finals at the Paris Olympics but failed to qualify for the final. Hinchliffe, making his Olympic debut, finished third in his semi-final with a time of 9.97 seconds, falling short of the final due to strong competition in the other semi-final. Hughes, the national record holder, also missed out, finishing his race in 10.03 seconds. Both athletes had shown promising performances leading up to the event, with Hinchliffe notably edging out world champion Noah Lyles in the heats. The disqualification of a fellow teammate, Jeremiah Azu, for a false start added to the drama surrounding the event. Despite their efforts, the duo's Olympic journey concluded without a place in the final race.
