Army Reviews Security for Jammu Elections

Ahead of the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir's Chenab Valley, which begin on September 18, Lt General Navin Sachdeva of the White Knight Corps conducted a security review in the Doda and Kishtwar districts. He assessed the operational preparedness of security forces amidst heightened tensions following recent terror attacks that have claimed lives. Alongside, the annual Kailash Kund Yatra is underway, with security measures including aerial surveillance to protect the pilgrims. The elections will cover eight assembly segments in the Chenab Valley and 16 in south Kashmir. The Army has emphasized the professionalism of its troops during this critical period.
