Colt McCoy Retires from NFL, Joins NBC
Colt McCoy, the two-time Heisman Trophy finalist and former NFL quarterback, has announced his retirement after a 14-year career with five teams. He plans to transition to broadcasting as an analyst for NBC Sports, debuting on September 7 during the Colorado-Nebraska game. McCoy had a distinguished college career at Texas, where he became a record-holder with 45 wins as a starter and led the Longhorns to the BCS National Championship game in 2010. His NFL career included stints with the Cleveland Browns, San Francisco 49ers, Washington Commanders, New York Giants, and Arizona Cardinals, where he recorded 7,975 passing yards and 34 touchdowns. Former Texas coach Mack Brown praised McCoy's contributions and expressed confidence in his future in broadcasting. McCoy's new role comes as the Big Ten expands, aligning with his love for college football and his desire to share insights from his playing experience.
