Following the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her subsequent flight to India, nearly 300 fatalities have been reported in violent protests, prompting fears of unrest spilling over into India. The Border Security Force (BSF) has been actively thwarting attempts to cross the border, coordinating with the Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) to ensure peace. Prohibitory orders have been issued in the Mathabhanga subdivision of Cooch Behar to prevent smuggling and maintain order, restricting the movement of certain commodities near the border. In response to the crisis, India's Home Minister Amit Shah has formed a committee to monitor the situation and ensure the safety of Indian nationals and minorities in Bangladesh. Reports of continued violence against Hindus in Bangladesh, including vandalism of temples and homes, have further heightened concerns.
