Disney CEO Bob Iger and his wife, Willow Bay, dean of USC's Annenberg School, are set to become the new controlling owners of Angel City Football Club (ACFC), making it the most valuable women's sports team in the world with a valuation of $250 million. The couple will invest an additional $50 million into the club, aimed at accelerating its growth and supporting its mission of driving equity on and off the field. Bay will have full control of ACFC's board and represent the team on the NWSL's Board of Governors once the transaction is finalized, which is expected in 30-60 days, pending league approval. The club, founded by Natalie Portman, Kara Nortman, and Julie Uhrman, and prominently supported by Alexis Ohanian, has led the league in revenue, sponsorship, and attendance despite struggling on the field with an 11th place rank this season. The investment highlights the growing popularity and commercial viability of women's sports.
