Assandh re-elected
Bhupinder Singh Assandh has been unanimously re-elected as the president of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (HSGMC) during a meeting held at the Kurukshetra DC office. The newly formed ad hoc executive body consists of eleven members, including Sudarshan Singh Sehgal as senior vice-president and Bibi Ravinder Kaur as junior vice-president. The previous ad hoc committee's 18-month term expired in May, leading to the nomination of a new 41-member panel by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on August 14. Assandh expressed gratitude for his re-election and committed to managing gurdwara affairs transparently and inclusively, emphasizing the financial growth of the HSGMC, which now boasts over Rs 40 crores in fixed deposits. The elected members paid homage at Gurdwara Chhevin Patshahi following the election. The new body will oversee the management of gurdwaras in Haryana until a formal management committee is established or within the next 18 months.
