TikTok Star's Stepfather Charged with Attempted Murder

Eixchel Berroteran, a TikTok influencer with over 4 million followers, shared her traumatic experience of an attempted murder-suicide involving her estranged stepfather, Luis Damas, who allegedly broke into their Miami apartment and shot at her and her mother. Berroteran described how Damas, after showing up unannounced, threatened to kill her, and fired a gun, narrowly missing her by centimeters. Her mother intervened, wrestling with Damas, which allowed Berroteran to escape under the bed. The incident occurred on August 21, and following the attack, Berroteran posted graphic images of her injuries on social media, expressing the emotional toll the event has taken on them. Damas has since been arrested and faces multiple charges including attempted murder and aggravated battery. Despite the ordeal, Berroteran credited divine intervention and the strength of her bond with her mother for their survival.
