The Kolkata Police has refuted claims from viral audio clips suggesting they informed the parents of a trainee doctor from RG Kar Medical College and Hospital that their daughter had died by suicide. Deputy Commissioner Indira Mukherjee stated at a press briefing that the police never called the incident a suicide and emphasized that the material used to cover the victim's body was blue, countering rumors about foul play. The victim's father distanced himself from the audio clips, stating he does not recognize the voice and will not take responsibility for their circulation. Meanwhile, the victim's family expressed their hurt over comments made by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee regarding the case. They feel unsupported and believe that Banerjee, who does not have children, cannot understand their grief. The investigation into the case continues with the Central Bureau of Investigation involved.
