Red Wings Sign Tarasenko to Two-Year Deal
The Detroit Red Wings have signed forward Vladimir Tarasenko to a two-year, $9.5 million contract with an average annual value of $4.75 million. Tarasenko, a two-time Stanley Cup champion, joins the Red Wings after spending last season with the Ottawa Senators and Florida Panthers, where he scored 23 goals and had 32 assists. His addition helps fill the offensive void left by David Perron’s departure and aims to make Detroit a serious contender in the Eastern Conference. The deal was made possible by freeing up cap space through trades involving Jake Walman and Robby Fabbri. Tarasenko, despite being 32 and showing signs of decline, is expected to provide valuable scoring depth, especially on the second line with JT Compher and Patrick Kane.
