This victory ensures China's continued dominance in this event, following their win in Tokyo. Kazakhstan secured the bronze medal, marking their first Olympic medal in shooting since 1996. However, the first day of competition was marred by heavy rain, leading to the postponement of the men's street skateboarding event and delays in tennis matches at Roland Garros. The opening ceremony, which took place in torrential rain, was generally well-received despite a significant gaffe where South Korean athletes were mistakenly introduced as North Korean. The International Olympic Committee has since apologized for this error.
