Bengaluru Extends Nightlife Hours to 1 AM

The Karnataka government has officially extended nightlife hours in Bengaluru, allowing bars, restaurants, hotels, and other licensed establishments within the BBMP limits to operate until 1 am. This move, announced in the state budget by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, aims to boost the local economy and generate additional revenue from excise duties and taxes. While the hospitality industry and many residents have welcomed the decision, some concerns have been raised about potential increases in crime and public safety issues. The new operating hours apply to various establishments, including clubs (CL4 license), star hotels (CL6 license), and bars (CL9 license). This extension is anticipated to invigorate Bengaluru's nightlife, making the city more attractive to both locals and tourists.
