Manu Bhaker Wins Historic Bronze at Paris Olympics

Manu Bhaker made history by winning a bronze medal in the Women's Air Pistol event at the Paris Olympics 2024, becoming the first Indian woman to achieve this milestone in shooting. Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya congratulated her and highlighted the Rs 2 crore spent on her training, which included sessions in Germany and Switzerland. He emphasized the importance of the 'Khelo India' initiative, launched by PM Modi, which aims to enhance sports infrastructure and support talent development at the grassroots level. Mandaviya expressed confidence that such initiatives would help other athletes perform well in the Olympics. He urged the public to support athletes on social media as shooting and archery competitions continue. Bhaker is set to compete again in the mixed team event soon.
