Criticism Grows Over Harris' Media Engagement

CNN's John Berman pressed Harris campaign spokeswoman Adrienne Elrod on this issue, highlighting that Harris had no campaign events scheduled on the day in question, suggesting she had time for media engagements. The Washington Post editorial board also urged Harris to address the media to explain her positions on key issues, noting that ignoring the press could be politically damaging. Republican Sen. Eric Schmitt accused Harris of avoiding the media due to incoherence and contrasted her with former President Trump, who, despite spreading falsehoods, engages with the press. Berman countered by questioning the value of Trump's media interactions given his numerous misstatements.
