Kalki 2898 AD Sequel Production Update

Nag Ashwin's mythological sci-fi film 'Kalki 2898 AD,' featuring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan, has garnered significant box office success and critical acclaim since its release on June 27. The film collected Rs 555 crore globally in just four days and Rs 343.6 crore in India by day five, making it one of India's highest-grossing films. Its narrative, inspired by Hindu scriptures and set in a dystopian future, revolves around Prabhas' character Bhairava, a bounty hunter, and Deepika Padukone's Sumati, who is pivotal in the prophecy of Vishnu's tenth incarnation. The film's technical aspects, including music by Santhosh Narayanan and cinematography by Djordje Stojiljkovic, have been praised. A sequel has been confirmed, with 60% of the shooting completed, and it will focus more on Kamal Haasan's character Yaskin. The sequel is anticipated to take up to three years to complete.
