Oilers Acquire Vasily Podkolzin from Canucks
The Edmonton Oilers have acquired forward Vasily Podkolzin from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for a fourth-round selection in the 2025 NHL Draft, originally belonging to the Ottawa Senators. Podkolzin, a 23-year-old winger, has recorded 18 goals and 17 assists in 137 games over three seasons with the Canucks. He made his Stanley Cup Playoffs debut this past season, playing two games against the Oilers. The trade enhances Vancouver's draft capital, bringing their total to seven selections in the upcoming 2025 draft. Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin expressed gratitude for Podkolzin's contributions during his time with the team. Podkolzin is entering the first year of a two-year contract he signed with the Canucks in April 2024.
