Multiple Arrests Made in Pueblo Shooting Incidents

Pueblo police have made several recent arrests related to violent crime and drug offenses. On June 28, 2024, a shooting at Veteran's Tavern resulted in one woman's death, leading to the arrest of David Martinez for first-degree murder on August 8. Additionally, Nicholis Smith was apprehended on July 31 with over 110 grams of fentanyl, other drugs, and firearms after police executed a search warrant at his residence. In a separate incident on August 4, a man brandished a shotgun and discharged rounds into the air, later hitting a police cruiser while attempting to flee; he was subsequently arrested. The police have emphasized their commitment to de-escalation and public safety during these incidents.
