Eight Arrested in Greek Drug Trafficking Bust
Greek police, with assistance from Israel, have arrested eight foreign nationals linked to a criminal ring trafficking drugs from Europe to Israel via yachts. The suspects, primarily from Israel and Ukraine, were apprehended in Volos, Greece, with a 44-year-old Israeli believed to be the gang leader. Authorities confiscated around 130 kg of drugs, including MDMA, ketamine, and cannabis, with illegal profits estimated at 2.5 million euros. The drugs were reportedly hidden in trailers coming from Bulgaria and loaded onto yachts destined for Israel. This operation reflects ongoing collaboration between Israeli and Greek law enforcement to combat drug trafficking. In a separate operation, Moroccan police arrested two individuals for possessing over 2,500 Rivotril tablets, highlighting the global challenges of drug trafficking.
