Stefan Bajcetic Joins Salzburg on Loan

Liverpool's Stefan Bajcetic is set to join Red Bull Salzburg on a one-year loan after Barcelona's last-minute attempt to sign him fell through. Barcelona tried to secure Bajcetic on a loan deal following Marc Bernal's ACL injury but were hindered by financial constraints and LaLiga restrictions. Bajcetic, who has struggled with injuries, will reunite with former Liverpool assistant coach Pep Lijnders at Salzburg. This marks Salzburg's second acquisition from Liverpool this summer, following Bobby Clark. Bajcetic had a breakthrough season in 2022-23 but played only three times last season due to a calf injury. Liverpool's decision to loan him out aims to provide him with regular playing time to aid his development.
