The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in connection with the excise policy scam, citing his evasive and non-cooperative attitude during questioning. The Supreme Court has deferred the hearing on Kejriwal's bail plea to September 5, allowing the CBI more time to file counter affidavits. Kejriwal is accused of being a key figure in the formulation of a now-scrapped excise policy and faces charges from both the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) related to corruption and money laundering. The CBI has also received sanction to prosecute Kejriwal and has filed a supplementary charge sheet against him. Meanwhile, AAP's Sandeep Kumar Pathak has challenged a prison authority decision denying him a meeting with Kejriwal in Tihar Jail, arguing it violates constitutional rights.
