U.S. Eventing Team Arrives for Paris Olympics

Equestrian events at the Paris 2024 Olympics will be held from July 27 to August 6 at the Palace of Versailles, featuring three disciplines: dressage, jumping, and eventing, with six gold medals up for grabs. Dressage involves a series of artistic movements performed to music, while jumping tests the horses' agility and partnership with riders over obstacles, and eventing combines dressage, jumping, and cross-country challenges. The U.S. eventing team horses traveled from Pennsylvania to Paris via air, with their journey emphasizing their comfort and specialized care during transit. Each horse has to undergo passport checks, ensuring proper documentation, including vaccines and blood tests, is in order. Anush Agarwalla will represent India in equestrian after winning bronze at the 2022 Asian Games, marking a significant achievement for the country. Historically, equestrian has been notable as the first mixed-gender Olympic sport, with female riders participating since 1964.
