On Sunday, San Antonio police officers responded to a domestic violence call, resulting in a shootout that left Officer Viviana Rodriguez injured and the suspect, Jorge Chacon-Gutierrez, dead. Chacon-Gutierrez, a 25-year-old Venezuelan national, had entered the U.S. illegally and was released by Border Patrol with a 2026 court date.
