FPT Invests $200 Million in Japan AI Services

Vietnamese technology firm FPT is making significant strides in the artificial intelligence sector with a $200 million investment to establish cloud and AI services in Japan, targeting the digital transformation needs of Japanese companies. This expansion, which will involve the establishment of AI data centers using Nvidia chips, aims to increase FPT's workforce in Japan from 3,500 to approximately 5,000 by early next year. In addition, FPT has commenced construction on a $174 million AI project in Binh Dinh province, Vietnam, which will include an AI center focused on research and cybersecurity. FPT, the most valuable tech company in Vietnam with a market capitalization of $7.7 billion, reported revenues exceeding $2 billion last year. The company is positioning itself as a key player in providing advanced AI solutions and infrastructure in both Vietnam and Japan.
