Man arrested over A61 crash
A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following a tragic crash on the A61 near Barnsley that resulted in the deaths of six individuals, including two children. The collision occurred on July 21 when a Ford Focus, carrying Shane Roller, 33, Shannen Morgan, 30, and their daughters Rubie, 9, and Lillie Morgan-Roller, 4, collided with a motorcycle operated by Christopher Barton, 56, and his wife Janine, 48. The crash also left an 11-year-old girl orphaned. West Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses, particularly anyone who may have seen a grey Porsche 911 in the area at the time. Detective Sergeant Steven Suggitt has urged anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage to assist with the investigation. The local community has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of the Roller and Morgan families, with tributes being laid at the crash site.
