Josh Hazlewood Out of Scotland T20 Series

Australian pace bowler Josh Hazlewood has been ruled out of the three-match T20I series against Scotland due to a calf injury, with Riley Meredith named as his replacement. Meredith, who last played for Australia in 2021, showcased impressive form for Somerset in the English season, taking 14 wickets in the T20 Blast and six in the one-day cup. Hazlewood is expected to recover in time for the T20Is and ODIs against England starting September 11. This marks the second fast bowler injury for Australia, following Spencer Johnson's side strain. Australia's pace attack for the Scotland series will now include Meredith, Xavier Bartlett, Sean Abbott, and Nathan Ellis, supported by allrounders and captain Mitchell Marsh. Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc are focusing on preparation for the home summer and the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India.
