Veteran defenseman Ryan Suter has signed a one-year, $775,000 contract with the St. Louis Blues, including up to $2.225 million in performance bonuses. Suter, 39, was recently bought out by the Dallas Stars, marking the second buyout of his career after a previous one by the Minnesota Wild. Over his 19-year NHL career, Suter has played 1,444 games, accumulating 681 points and maintaining a strong presence on the blue line. As the league leader in games played without winning a Stanley Cup, Suter continues his quest for the elusive championship. The Blues will become the third team in the Central Division paying him due to previous buyout agreements. Internationally, Suter has represented the United States in multiple competitions, earning medals at the World Junior Championships and Winter Olympics.
