Kavitha seeks bail

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader K Kavitha and Aam Aadmi Party communications-incharge Vijay Nair have sought bail from the Supreme Court, citing precedents set by the recent bail grants to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia, who were released due to delays in their trials. Kavitha has been in custody for five months on charges related to the Delhi excise policy scam, while Nair has been incarcerated for 23 months. Their petitions are scheduled for a hearing on August 20, with the Supreme Court issuing notices to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) for their responses.
