Marquise Brown Out for Chiefs' Season Opener
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Marquise 'Hollywood' Brown will miss the season opener against the Baltimore Ravens due to a shoulder injury sustained in the preseason. Head coach Andy Reid confirmed that Brown's recovery has been impressive but will not be sufficient for him to play in Week 1. The Chiefs have kept seven wide receivers on their active roster, including recent addition JuJu Smith-Schuster, who rejoined the team after being released by the New England Patriots. Rookie first-round pick Xavier Worthy and other wideouts like Rashee Rice and Justin Watson are expected to step up in Brown's absence. Reid has expressed confidence in the team's depth and Mahomes' familiarity with the receiving corps.
