Bhinde Petition Dismissed by Bombay High Court

The Bombay High Court has dismissed the petition of Bhavesh Bhinde, director of Ego Media Pvt Ltd, who was arrested in connection with the Ghatkopar hoarding collapse that killed 17 people. Bhinde claimed his arrest was illegal and the incident was an 'act of God,' arguing he was detained a day before the official arrest date. However, the court found no legal infirmity or procedural impairment in his arrest. Public Prosecutor Hiten Venegaonkar maintained that all arrest procedures were followed, including obtaining signatures from independent witnesses. Bhinde had also sought interim bail and the quashing of the FIR against him, which the court rejected, upholding the charge of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
