Rajesh Nambiar Named Nasscom President-Designate

Rajesh Nambiar has been appointed as the President-designate of Nasscom, set to succeed Debjani Ghosh upon the completion of her term in November 2024. Nambiar, who recently resigned as Chairman and Managing Director of Cognizant India, has held leadership roles at major tech firms including TCS, IBM, and Ciena, and was previously the chairperson of Nasscom. He emphasized the importance of transitioning to AI-first companies and enhancing talent as a competitive advantage in the tech industry. Ghosh, who has served for seven years, has been pivotal in positioning India's tech sector globally and will be succeeded by Nambiar as the industry faces slower growth projections. Cognizant is expected to announce Nambiar's replacement shortly. The appointment comes at a crucial time as India's IT exports are anticipated to grow at a modest rate, reflecting challenges in the sector.
