Jun Hyosung, a K-pop idol and actress, has been offered the lead role in the true-crime film 'Bound to be a Devil', inspired by the notorious 'roundhouse kick' case that occurred in Busan, South Korea, in May 2022. The film will depict the brutal attack on a woman by a man who followed and assaulted her at her apartment entrance, an incident that sparked national outrage after CCTV footage was released. If she accepts the role, it will mark Hyosung's first leading film role in her 15-year career since debuting with the girl group SECRET. The film aims to address broader issues of random violence and societal reactions in Korea, and the real-life victim is involved as a consultant for the script to ensure authenticity. Filming is set to begin in mid-August, with a release planned for next year. Hyosung's agency has confirmed that she is currently reviewing the offer positively.
