Lost Dog Maharaj Returns Home After Journey
A black indie dog named Maharaj from Yamagarni village in Belagavi district, Karnataka, became a local hero after traveling nearly 250 kilometers on its own to return home. Maharaj went missing during the annual Wari Padayatra pilgrimage to Pandharpur, Maharashtra, alongside his owner, Kamalesh Kumbhar. Despite getting lost in the crowd, the dog managed to find its way back, astonishing the villagers who believed divine intervention guided him. The community celebrated Maharaj’s return with a grand feast and a procession, viewing it as a miraculous event. This remarkable journey highlighted the dog's loyalty and the villagers' deep emotional connection with their pet.
