Severe flooding in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, has prompted immediate relief efforts from the East Godavari District, which has dispatched essential supplies including food and water for the affected residents. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is actively overseeing rescue operations, deploying 110 boats to deliver aid and facilitate evacuations, with rescue teams utilizing boats to move people to safety. Over 20,000 cooking stoves, 2 lakh water packets, and substantial food supplies have been organized to support those displaced by the floods. The relentless rainfall has resulted in significant waterlogging, with areas like Ajit Singh Nagar and the Budameru Canal being particularly hard hit, as the situation continues to evolve with forecasts predicting more rain. Tragically, the flooding has claimed lives, with reports indicating at least 12 fatalities thus far.
